Best Director: Kathryn Bigelow is said to be the front-runner, and good for her! She'll be the first woman to ever receive the award. But, watch out for her ex-hubby James Cameron to snag the award.
Best Actor: A sure lock for Jeff Bridges tonight. Why? He's a hard-worker, respected actor, has been nominated four times(?), is old and hasn't won yet. From what I hear his performance is worthy.
Best Actress: The toughest call of the night. Some say Meryl, some say Sandra. A third Oscar will be given, or a first. I really hope Meryl, and I will be honest I haven't seen her performance, but she deserves a third Oscar, while Sandra is not a great actress or even close to Streep's par.
Best Supporting Actress: Hmmmm....uhhh...MO'NIQUE! Easily the tightest lock of the evening. She has the respect, the awards, and the praise for her powerhouse performance. Following McDaniel, Goldberg, and (ugh) Hudson, Mo'Nique will be the fourth black woman to win the award. I still need to see the damn movie!!! Sage, anybody, do you have a link?!
Best Supporting Actor: The usual "feh" category of every year, with Christopher Waltz waltzing his way to the podium to scoop up the golden boy.
Stay tuned, I will be actively posting throughout show, as I'm sure many will be!
